Town Village Sterling Heights
Friday the 13th takes us to Sterling Heights, Michigan where the team at Town Village gives us a joyous arrival. We catch them at the end of a long week of activities to celebrate National Assisted Living Week. They have an art theme floating around their community with painted rocks, pictures and all kinds of works of art put together by their memory care residents. We do a lovely cruise and croon with Laura and Marion. Marion is a woman ahead of her time, openly talking about career choices she made in her life as a young woman, her divorce, etc. A truly modern woman.
This concludes the Midwest portion of the 60/20 Tour. Leslie had not been to a lot of these states, and the pride people feel for their state is palpable and so authentic. Next week it’s off to the Global Aging conference in Toronto. Francis from Cameroon will be joining for the rest of the 60/20 Tour. All I can say is fasten your seat belts…
