iN2L’s Version of March Madness!

March 15, 2017

We’re down to the wire with the Cameroon Senior Center project. As you can see from the picture the walls are up, Francis is in high spirits and things are happening! Zack Mejias, my son JP and I are getting ready to head to Cameroon to open the center on April 22nd. We were delighted to get a $5,000 donation from Denise Boudreau Scott. She was looking for a way to celebrate her anniversary and this was it! That puts up only about $7,000 short of the number we need for completion of the project and we need your help. Remember, for $250 you get a goat named after you, a collar for the goat knitted by an African elder and a framed picture of your goat! As you can see, it’s a great month to buy your favorite person a goat!

It doesn’t sound like a big deal to us, but the country of Cameroon has never had a senior center. It’s huge deal to them – the elders have no place to socialize and this is it. And the fact (in honor of Hannah Thomas) that they are integrating into the center a program for children with disabilities just makes it that much more magical.
