It’s Never 2 Late Reaches Solutions-Use Milestone

TC community clients log more than 5 million usage hours with iN2L digital engagement solutions in 2017.

DENVER, Colo.—January 25, 2018—It’s Never 2 Late®, the leader in providing person-centered digital engagement, announced that its 2,500+ senior living community customers logged in more than 5 million hours of usage with the company’s digital engagement and memory care solutions.

This confirms a continued, upward trend of long-term care communities’ complete integration of digital engagement solutions to enhance quality of life for senior residents, improve caregivers’ workflow and foster peace of mind in seniors’ families and loved ones. In 2016, clients logged more than 4 million usage hours, and 3.7 million in 2015. iN2L boasts a 98% customer-retention rate.

“For nearly 20 years we’ve seen how person centered technology can change the senior living experience for residents, staff and families, especially for people living with dementia,” said iN2L president and co-founder Jack York. “Five million hours of usage speaks to the power of engagement, it’s a remarkable number. Kudos to the activity directors, therapists and other senior living staff that bring our technology to life every day.”

The full breadth of iN2L systems include iN2L Engage, presented on 70-inch and 23-inch monitors, and iN2L FOCUS, a new tablet device that allows caregivers to reach seniors where they are, regardless of physical or cognitive abilities.

All iN2L solutions use a touch screen to easily access and “favorite” educational, spiritual, and social content, which is continuously updated and personalized to their unique preferences, as well as their level of cognitive, physical and technical ability.

The senior-friendly design of the company’s solutions makes it easy for residents, even those who have never used computer technology before, to stimulate their intellectual curiosity, prompt joyful memories and stay connected with the people in their lives, including caregivers, family and friends.

For caregivers, iN2L personalizes engagement with residents and aids in care workflow through device settings configurable for each senior. iN2L also supports initiatives to improve memory care, mitigate the effects of boredom and loneliness, and modify negative or unhealthy behaviors. In addition, solutions like the iN2L FOCUS features video chat, photo sharing and texting, enabling residents and their loved ones to easily communicate and socialize.

Research suggests that digital engagement technology may mitigate cognitive decline associated with loneliness, depression and boredom and reduce reliance on antidepressant medication. The intuitiveness and efficacy of digital engagement technology may also blunt the emerging industry and demographic challenges of rising caregiver shortages and the so-called Silver Tsunami of Baby Boomer retirements, respectively.

“I could not be happier to witness the sheer number of opportunities uncovered by our client communities to surface connections, relationships and joyful interaction with residents living with memory loss, dementia and cognitive decline,” York said. “We’ve been at this for 18 years, but our drive to continuously innovate and create new solutions still makes us feel like a start-up!”
