August 4, 2016 – The adventure has kicked off! Francis and the United States are becoming very friendly with each other. Francis’ first excursion into our country launched on Saturday and he has seamlessly mixed partaking in the delights of New Orleans with passion for the Pioneer Network. As you can see, Francis has no trouble blending into Bourbon Street!
iN2L has had fun at the conference as well. During the Monday night reception we set up a Skype session with residents from Brookdale. The highlight of the trip for us was hosting a reception to honor our customers, praise the work of Mary Tellis Nyack who built a kitchen in India, and highlighting the GOATT project where we are raising money for Francis. And, from a proud dad standpoint, watching my daughter Perrin belt out 2 hours of jazz music as professional as anything you would see in the entire city!
At the conference, Francis has fully immersed himself into the educational aspects of the Pioneer Network. His favorite session was “Love Matters: Leadership Lessons from Wise Women” presented by Nancy Fox, Susan Ryan, Denise Hyde, Sarah Rowan, Sandy Ransom and Jude Thomas. He also rocked the closing keynote yesterday. The crowd cried, cheered and felt inspired by the brilliant work of Francis and CDVTA.
As we left New Orleans, we had some trouble getting started but left around 6:00 pm and arrived into Fort Worth around 5:00 am. Francis was amazed at the size of our cars, the quality of our roads and the choices of fast food. We met a group of local police officers. And after meeting Francis they appointed him an honorary deputy of Longview, Texas.
Later today we’re off to the stockyards and maybe a peek at the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Tonight we hope to sleep in New Mexico.
